Meet Durel, EMDR Specialist

BSc, MSW, RSW

Durel is a trauma specialist, with a special focus on EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapeutic intervention. She has been in practice for almost 20 years, having worked in the United States, Jamaica and Canada. As such, she has a wealth of cross-cultural experiences that has afforded her with a keen sense of cultural sensitivity that comes with working with various populations in a variety of social contexts, including intimate partner violence, adult and youth justice, and adult and youth mental health. Durel has supported Military and First Responders/Frontline Workers for many years.

Durel obtained her Bachelor's Degree from State University of New York, College at Brockport, and her Masters of Social Work from McMaster University.

She completed her EMDR Training and Certification and has additional Certificate in Trauma Counselling for Front-Line Workers.

Durel is accepting new clients both in-person and virtually. She is available out of our Hamilton office or Ancaster (at the Brantford border).
