Meet Deborah

BA, BSW, MSW, RSW

Throughout her career in child welfare and in long term care, Deborah has developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges individuals and family experience in their lives.Deborah has an extensive amount of experiences, knowledge in dealing with anxiety, chronic health illnesses, depression, self-esteem, religious trauma and toxic workplace stress. Deborah assists individuals and families to adjust to life transitions such as illness, grief and loss, separation and divorce.


Deborah draws from models of treatment that are systemic, strengths based, solution focused with a trauma informed lens and with culturally sensitive therapy in assisting the client to develop skills, healthier coping strategies and resources to enhance their healing journey. Deborah's therapeutic approach emphasizes person-centered therapy reflecting empathy,acceptance and genuineness.


For Deborah, ongoing treatment is a compassionate, caring, collaborative and non-judgemental process developed by the client, family and therapist to set goals to meaningfully engage in their lives.


Deborah is a Registered Social Worker (OCSWSSW) and is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Deborah holds a Masters degree in Social Work from prestigious McMaster Univeristy, in addition to her Bachelor of Social Work as well as Bachelor of Sociology from McMaster University. Deborah also holds a Long-Term Care Administration certificate; Certification in Art Therapy; Certification in Religious Trauma; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and is currently completing her Certification in Couples’ Counselling through the Gottman Institute.

In her spare time, Deborah enjoys reading, swimming, and entertaining friends and family. 

 

Deborah is currently accepting new clients virtually, and depending on location/availability, in-home visits in the Brantford/Brant County area.
